Osteobusters

The Osteobusters Exercise and Education Program is a community-based program for older adults which encourages participants to take steps to build and to maintain strong bones. It is presented in a small group format and is led by trained peer volunteers.

The program consists of exercises designed to improve balance, muscle strength and posture, and to encourage participation in weight-bearing activities.

Engaging in regular exercise to the extent of your abilities may help you to:

  • Maintain bone density and bone strength in adulthood
  • Increase muscle mass
  • Improve posture, body mechanics and balance
  • Reduce the risk for fall-related fractures

Scrabble is a word game in which two to four players score points by placing tiles bearing a single letter onto a board divided into a 15×15 grid of squares. The tiles must form words that, in crossword fashion, read left to right in rows or downward in columns, and be included in a standard dictionary or lexicon.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle yoga is a variation of the hatha tradition of yoga. It was created to be accessible to all types of students, and to support their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. Gentle yoga seeks to provide therapeutic modifications to common yoga poses. Contact Sharon to sign up.
